live it to give it is all about love and connection. Being authentic. Living our lives and sharing it with others. Life is messy and so is this blog. Somedays my organized coach self shows up. Other days it's my vulnerable author. There's a mom that lives inside me alongside a wife, friend, social justice activist, creative muse, ponderer extraordinaire, and multitude of others. I'll introduce you to people who inspire me and offer a peek into my world that very likely intersects with your world. In other words, I will share life in its full, glorious mess with you. I'm honored you're here and I hope you'll come back soon!!  Cheers! Kayce

Practicing for this Practice called Life

This past weekend I had the luxurious pleasure of participating in nearly 48 hours of retreat in the privacy of my own home. While facilitated by meditation practitioner, Susan Piver, we were invited to let go of all expectations, hold our minds toward ourselves, and allow the schedule to be our container.

Serene & Neurotic - the perfect combo

I simply adore new mothers. They are the perfect combination of serene and neurotic. Like I said, the perfect combo of love-manifest and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

Doggie Poo and You

It may be the irreverent part of me or my own impish little girl, but I roared with laughter upon reading a client's tale about her granddaughter rolling around in dog poop. The story is the exact opposite of propriety and sounds downright icky on the base level. Doesn’t society suggest that we’re supposed to always stay clean and tidy and/or be the prim grandmother in sensible shoes reading Mother Goose by the fire to our pink-cheeked offspring? Who says those things have to be true?

The Universe Shows Off

Sometimes the Universe (aka God) is a gigantic flashy show-off pulling tricks out of her hat like a magician with fluffy bunnies. If I began to try and articulate all of the brilliance that’s shown up in my recent days (alongside some downright phantasmagorical stuff), it might read more like fiction than fact... but then again the grit of life is often stranger than make believe, you know?

Guest Post at "Abbey of the Arts"

There is a simple yet powerful question I pose to participants at the beginning (and throughout) each Live it to Give it class. What do you need right now? Upon asking the question, we begin to engage our internal non-judgmental witness and listen deeply while closely observing. What do I really need?

The question itself can stir up all sorts of thoughts and responses. That’s selfish. I’m selfish. I can’t do that. What if…?
