Blues Clues: This Week Around the Web

BOOK CLUBS/REVIEWS: "Saturated in color, life, and emotion as we follow three women apparently disconnected...other than through whispers of the color blue. Beautiful writing. A novel with whimsy, healing, and reconciliation. I loved it! Great book club choice." Erin @ Amazon

Book Club Resources. Check it out!

CREATIVE PROCESS: "At this point, I realized that Kayce was outlining the exact process I advocate for any creative pursuit – set an intention, have some structure but not too much, let go of expectations and just begin.  How wonderful!  So I asked her to go further. “Once you had these “sketches” of your characters, what happened?”" Christa Gallopoulos on BLUE

Izabel meets Daisy?!?!?CHARACTER INSIGHT: "It’s hard to talk about the characters without giving away too much about the story… or myself. Monica is the insecure perfectionist. I was Monica for much of my life until I realized that perfectionism is a game I could never win and began to lighten up. Enter Izabel. She’s more of a free spirit who lets the wind blow through her hair while riding her bike. My husband grimaces when he hears about me riding without a helmet, so I don’t do it often but I really love the feeling when I do. Daisy is the most ethereal character in the book. I love her, because she represents playfulness, a touch of magic, and stepping into the unknown, which are some of my favorite traits." from Interviews with Inspiring People ~ Colette Lafia

SUPERPOWERS: "I think my edge/superpower/secret is not taking myself so seriously while still being very serious about the project. It’s also an innate ability to slow down and listen deeply to the direction my whole self (body, mind, spirit) and the book are leading and to find personal balance in the process." from Author Kayce Hughlett on Writing and Publishing Her Debut Novel, BLUE ~ Debbie Reber
