Be the awesome in your own sauce!

Some mornings I wake up with little phrases or lingering moments of dreams whispering on my lips. Today I woke up with ‘I am the awesome in my own secret sauce.’ Bold? Brash? Cheeky? Crystal clear?

I pondered the phrase for a while and then decided, Mais Oui… but, of course! How could it be any other way? We each hold the secret to our own sauce for success.

As someone who’s immersed in the entrepreneurial, personal growth and self-help field, my inbox is bombarded with topics like what it means to be authentic and how to identify, name, and distinguish my own personal brand. As a woman who’s spent decades trying to get out of a box, you might imagine how I shudder when someone tries to put me back into one.

I wonder about all this talk of branding and niche development. It can feel confining and make my body and throat constrict… So, I was delighted to wake up today with this taste of clarity: I am the awesome in my own secret sauce.  And guess what, dear one. You, too, hold the secret of your own awesome!

The key to being authentic and living life on your terms is to stop keeping it a secret… from yourself!! When we keep the secret hidden inside through denial or playing small, we can’t be truly content. It’s impossible to develop our own brand of living when we're following someone else's recipe.

Today, I am extremely grateful for who I am and where I am in life. Right now, I’m home with my family and my purring wonder cat, Aslan. I've just returned from two weeks of inspiring travel on the east coast and I'm patiently awaiting the next set of edits for my debut novel. Being home feels great, and I do need to tell you that it’s been a long road to this place of contentment. There are always ups and downs and I have my fair share of days that feel less than awesome, but learning to understand how I tick has been the greatest gift I've ever received.

My journey may look different from yours, because we are unique individuals. That doesn't mean we can't make time to inspire one another and share in our highs and lows. Awesome comes in all degree of spiciness. I'd love to know your 'brand.'  Tell me: What is your secret to living an inspired life

  • How will you live this precious life that you’ve been given?
  • What do you want to offer back to the world?
  • Imagine that your awesome sauce could make someone else’s day a little brighter. How might you take better care of yourself?
  • Would you see yourself through different eyes if you knew that you hold the secret to your own awesome?
  • How can I help you live into your beautiful life?
