Ode on/to Earth Day
Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 10:59 AM by Kayce Stevens Hughlett

My soul, the rising sun with a steady beat.
My heart, the pulsing moon in a stream of tears.
My words fall flat, but I feel it all.
I rise and plead with Spirt, God, Mama Earth to do what I as human cannot do.
Heal the gaps. Mend the bones. Stop the violence.
May we each surrender in love like blossoms releasing to earth.
May hatred wane like the moon, turning toward new beginnings.
Always we begin again.
It's time.
Love,
Poetry,
Social Justice
