Living the Gloriously Impossible. Will you do it?

Reflections from Tuscany: A letter I stumbled upon as I ‘unpack’ six weeks of life-altering journeys and experience. I have to start somewhere, so why not here?
Dear Reader,
What if getting it right looked different than you think? If wearing bright and bold colors instead of muted tones freed you for success? If getting it right looked like letting your tears flow like Italian thermal springs instead of holding them in and wiping away any stray ones as quickly as a fly finds shit in the street?
What if you simply let go and followed your passions like a bold character in a Harlequin romance? What if for one day or hour or moment, you released the little girl (or boy) who lives inside your heart and invited her to come out and play? She’s there, you know, tucked right beneath the surface.
What if competent and secure and brilliant looked like all the characters of who you are coming together to live in harmony? What might that feel like? Scary? Impossible? Glorious? What if you lived the gloriously impossible? If you turned the rules inside your head upside down and shook them like Yahtzee dice until they fell into your perfect order?
You are glorious, my dear. I’ve walked in your shoes. I’ve dressed for success and made a practice of getting it “right.” It nearly destroyed me. I didn’t know it at the time, because I was so convinced that what I was doing was right on track. I wish I’d had the courage to live like a free-spirited heroine and dance naked in the rain before my body turned soft and wrinkly … But, hey, that’s my own hurdle to jump.
Life is made for living. Sometimes the “wrong” turn in the road leads to the most spectacular vista. Instead of red clay and a brick suburban house, you get Tuscany on a chill spring morning. You get a long-awaited shower that washes deep and soothes your soul. Cool tears mix with steaming water until it all feels right and loose and free.
What if?
Many thanks to author Sarah Selecky and the participants and founders of The Lemon Tree House for allowing me to learn, love, laugh, explore, and write with you!!
